How does Biden’s recently passed $1.8T Covid Relief Stimulus Act, just passed by Congress, compare to Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal spending stimulus of the 1930s? For my commentary on the comparison, and related discussion, listen to my radio interview of March 31, 2021.

Did not find a link to the radio interview on this page, but would love to hear or read more from you comparing Biden’s stimulus and infrastructure bills with the proposed Green New Deal, FDR’s, and a Real Green New Deal — ideally, as an equitable, socialist or otherwise non-capitalist society dedicated towards fulfilling human and environmental rights in a sustainable and nurturing system, of course! Preferably short of a command economy. Stay strong, Dr. Rasmus!
Great comment, Andy. I will write such a comparison, once the final form of Biden’s infrastructure (American Jobs Plan) bill is passed, no doubt in some much abbreviated form at some point. Biden already is breaking it up and agreeing with Republicans on the provisions of his initial proposals that greatly benefit corporations. Ex: auto companies and chip companies are soon getting big subsidies ($400b) that have nothing to do with infrastructure. Also, tech companies getting subsidized to start getting serious about competing with China on cybersecurity and AI, areas in which US capitalists have been lagging. Again, thanks for the idea, which deserves a written follow up.
