For my analysis of how the US elite will ‘bring Trump around’ to their positions on domestic and foreign policy issues, and create a new ‘Neoliberalism 2.0’, listen to my Nov. 28 Alternative Visions Radio show at:

SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT:
‘Trump’s ‘faux’ populism from the right is replacing Obama’s ‘faux’ populism from the left. Rasmus discusses how Trump will govern on economic issues (tax cuts, trade, business deregulation) no different than past mainstream establishment politicians. But will govern more repressively and radically on social issues, especially immigration, law and order, environment, health care privatization (ACA and Medicare), and Education privatization. How Trump’s trade policy is still free trade by another name and his Infrastructure proposals will not boost jobs as promised. Rasmus argues Trump represents an attempt to forge a ‘Neoliberalism 2.0’, i.e. more intense economic support for corporations-investors amidst more reactionary social measures—to appeal to the establishment as well as his base. Examples of Trump’s retreat already, revealed by interviews this past week. Rasmus also reviews Trump cabinet appointments to date as well as those to soon come as indicators of how he’ll govern from two directions to placate his base and the Republican-business elites. Jack concludes with a review of the various measures by which the Republican-Capitalist elites will continue to pressure Trump on main neoliberal policies (taxes, trade, deregulation) to ensure they continue: his business conflicts, his foundation, his tax returns, charges of nepotism and alleged violations of law by him and his cabinet representatives. For Trump’s taming, watch especially appointments to Treasury, State, and Defense. NEXT WEEK: the upcoming Italian vote and the political unraveling of Europe in 2017.
this is total nonsense.and i see the same junk over and over.the proof?
IF voters are sticking their fingers in the eye of the establishment..why did they ELECT THE SAME REPUBLICANS AGAIN?
lol…THE REAL REASON TRUMP WON?
racist white america and voter fraud/suppression
You may not like the thrust of my analysis, but just watch Trump, who has continued to back-peddle on major issues he took during the election campaign. His words in recent interviews, his key appointments, his statements, etc. That’s the proof. Trump is not against free trade, he is against the multilateral free trade deals like NAFTA. He is for bilateral free trade, which he covers over by saying he’ll renegotiate the deals. But free trade is free trade no matter the form, multilateral or bilateral. It will take some time to even negotiate/renegotiate the bilateral trade deals. In the meantime, Trump’s strategy will be to ‘talk down’ US companies planning to move to Mexico–i.e. as he’s done with Ford and Carrier Corp. He’ll use that evidence that he’s still tough on trade, while he and the US elite work out how they’ll save NAFTA with token changes and plan to negotiate bilateral trade deals with the Asian economies that were former signatories to the TPP. We are witnessing the origins and evolution of ‘Neoliberalism 2.0’, which will mean continuation of the US elite demands for investor tax cuts and business-banker deregulation, a reorientation of the trade elements (as noted above), combined with a more aggressive attack on civil liberties, social programs, immigration (of cheap S-1 visa labor from latin america while continuing H1-B and L-1 skilled immigrants coming to the US in hundreds of thousands taking top paying jobs), law and order police repression, etc. Trump represents a ‘false right populism’ that will fool the people just as Obama’s false ‘left populism’ of 2008 did. If you watched Trump closely in recent weeks and days you would have the PROOF you demand. What happens in coming weeks will further confirm this, I believe.
As for ‘racist white America’ behind it all, how do you account for the fact that the key swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, you put Trump in the white house, all voted overwhelmingly for Obama, a black candidate, in 2008 and again in 2012? Did these voters vote for Obama because they were racist? No, because they thought, despite his race, he would bring change–which he didn’t. They didn’t turn racist in just the past four years. They voted Trump 2016 because he too promised (falsely) to bring change to their economic conditions. We have to stop seeing the political world in terms of identity politics. That’s a big problem among liberals and ethnic minorities. It’s now more about economic and class as the US economy fails to deliver year after year for all but investors, bankers, and corporate elite.
lol…i dont know how my comment found its way here but…i assure you it was in error..(no doubt by me…)….i actually agree with you and am a big fan….
